What
has your experience been like at the Plex? Jamar: “Playing at the Plex has been the greatest
experience ever. It is great to
have a place like the Plex in your hometown that always makes you feel
welcome. The Plex provides the
feeling of home and is always there for me.
They really take care of me with great respect when I am there.” Damarcus: “My
experiences with the Plex have always been wonderful. They always show me a lot of love. They provide me with a great way to stay fit and great
competition.” Ø
What
do you think about kids not playing middle school soccer? Jamar: “If
kids want to get to that next level it is good for them to experience the
structure of the academy system. It
is fine if they want to play middle school soccer, but to get to that next
level kids need to experience the academy system.
The Fever academy provides pro players and coaches that provide
excellent training all year round. That
is what kids need to do to achieve the higher level of soccer.” Damarcus: “Middle
school soccer is fine but I wish I had the academy system to play in when I
was that age. With the academy
system, kids start playing on a higher level at a younger age. They receive better training from the academy system than in
middle school.” Jamar: “High
school soccer is great and is a fun experience. However, the academy system gives a different outlook more
focused on soccer development and provides the proper training and
coaching.” Damarcus: “High
school soccer is a lot of fun and is a good venue to showcase skills.
However, for me playing at Bradenton Academy, I had the opportunity
to play with kids from all over the world.
I learned different skills on different levels and got to play soccer
all year round. The academy
system changed my life by providing me with expert training.” Ø
Do
you think the academy system is the right approach to player
development? Jamar: “Yes,
it is more focused on the proper development of the game.
I think the Fever Academy is a great way to promote the growth of
young players in soccer.” Damarcus: “Absolutely!
The academy system changed my life and provided me with the training
I needed to develop as a soccer player.
The Fever Academy provides the same focus on development that young
players need to achieve their highest skill level.
I support what the Fever Academy is providing for young kids in Fort
Wayne, a great soccer atmosphere with excellent training.” Ø
Do
you feel that playing indoor in the off-season enhances better skills or
hinders them? Jamar: “Playing
indoor enhances better skills because you have to move and think more.
You can’t make mistakes and get away with them in indoor soccer.
The fact that you have to think and move quicker in indoor soccer
promotes better skills in outdoor soccer.” Damarcus: “Playing
indoor soccer definitely enhances better skills. It is a much faster game that really works on your touches.
Indoor soccer helps develop your ball and individual skills.
The faster pace gets you in shape for the outdoor season.” Ø
When
you are in Fort Wayne in the off-season where do you prefer to train? Jamar: “The
Plex for sure. They always make
me feel welcome and provide a great atmosphere for me to come and play.” Damarcus: “I
love training at the Plex. They
show me great respect and love when I’m there.
The environment is excellent and I really feel at home when I am
training at the Plex.”

How
do you feel about being an ambassador of the Plex and the BP National Pro
Soccer School camps? Jamar: “It is the greatest feeling ever to be an
ambassador of a soccer club. It
is a dream come true for me.” Damarcus: “I am
very honored and proud to be an ambassador of the Plex and the BP National
Pro Soccer School. I really
want Fort Wayne to grow as a soccer community and I feel that the Plex and
the BP National Pro Soccer School really help put Fort Wayne on the map for
soccer development. I am very
appreciative of the atmosphere they provide and I love being an ambassador
of those organizations. I am
very grateful for what the Plex has done for me.”
