Our History

The Plex South originally opened January 1, 2000 as the Golf Dome. It was originally designed primarily as an indoor golf and recreation facility. It was purchased by a local company in November 2005 and renamed the Dome. In September 2009, The Dome joined the Plex and was renamed The Plex South. Through the years, the Plex South has evolved into one of the largest and most comprehensive indoor sports, recreation and event facilites in the Midwest.

Located on Fort Wayne’s southwest side, the Plex South includes over 100,000 square feet of indoor sports and entertainment space as well as 40 acres of outdoor recreation space. Indoor features include:

  • 65 foot high ceiling
  • 60,000 square feet of athletic field space
  • professional style artificial turf
  • golf simulator
  • 18 hole miniature golf course
  • 6 automated batting cages
  • video games
  • concession stand
  • one full size soccer field or three short soccer fields
  • indoor baseball/softball diamonds
  • flag football fields
  • 30 station indoor driving range
  • outdoor driving range
  • putting green
  • 10,000 square feet of banquet space
