- Round Robin Games will consist of two (2) – 12 minute running clock periods. Playoff Games will be two (2) – 15 minute running clock periods. Only during tournament play on Sunday will the clock be stopped in the last two minutes of the 2nd period if the game is tied or within one goal.
- Saturday’s round robin games will seed you into the tournament play on Sunday. Round Robin play will be run on a point system. 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss. If points are tied seeding will be decided by:
- Head to Head
- Goals against
- Goals For
- Shootout
- Tournament play will consist of single elimination matches. Tied games will be decided by a 3-on-3 (5) minute, running clock, sudden death overtime; if still tied a 5 man shoot-out.
- Each team is allowed 1–45 second time out per game. No time outs will be allowed during the last two (2) minutes of a game unless the score is within two goals. A two-minute delay of game penalty will be issued if a time out is called not meeting these criteria.
- Games may start up to 10 minutes prior to scheduled start time of game. If your team does not show up for the game after 10 minutes you will forfeit your game.
- Full payment and roster with waiver signatures is due before your 1st game on Saturday or your team will be issued a forfeit.
- The Maximum roster limit is fifteen (15), including goalies. Players may not roster on more than one team in the same division. A Silver Division team may have no more than three (3) players who are also on the roster of a Gold Division team. A Rec Division team may have no more than two (2) players who are also on the roster of a Silver or Division team and may have NO players who are on a Gold Division roster. Rosters will be frozen after your 1st game starts on Saturday. No additions or deletions can be made after that time. No non-roster skaters will be allowed at anytime. If a non- rostered or “illegal” player is found to be playing, the team will automatically be suspended from the Tournament. Players must play in at least ONE (1) round robin game in order to be eligible to participate in bracket play.
- Your team must have four players and one goalie on the floor at game time or your team will forfeit that game.
- If the puck goes off the netting above the glass it is still a live puck and play will continue.
The Plex will not tolerate any violent or unsportsmanlike behavior. We reserve the right to take corrective actions against any player or players. OUR PURPOSE IS TO MAKE THIS A FUN, ENJOYABLE, AND ENTERTAINING SPORTING EXPERIENCE
MISCONDUCTS/RULES
1. All team captains are responsible for all players’ action on their team. The Plex reserves the right to issue extra penalties to the team captain as a result of other player’s actions on their team.
2. All teams are responsible for the conduct of their spectators. In the event a spectator becomes disruptive during a game, penalties can and will be assessed against the specific spectator’s team.
3. Any player deemed to be under the influence of alcohol as determined by The Plex personnel shall be immediately ejected from any game, and subject to more suspensions.
4. NO FIGHTING- players will receive an automatic tournament suspension
5. NO CHECKING – only incidental contact will be allowed
6. Any player receiving 3 minor (2 min) penalties in one game will be ejected for the remainder of that game.
7. Any player receiving a 5 min & 2 min penalties accumulation during one game will be ejected for the remainder of that game.
8. Any player receiving a major (5 min) penalty - misconduct. The Referee and tournament director reserves the right to issue a game ejection, game misconduct, or match penalty.
9. Any player receiving (2) game misconducts will be suspended from the tournament.
Penalties shall be actual playing time and shall be divided into the following classes:
- Minor Penalties (2-min)(double minor = 4-min)(Possible 5-min major)
- Unsportsmanlike Conduct-Minor abuse of Officials
- Playing puck after whistle
- Falling on Puck
- Delaying the Game
- Rough Play
- High Sticking that could result in an injury of opponent
- Holding
- Hooking
- Interference
- Tripping
- Slashing
- Roughing
- Bench Minor Penalties (2-minutes)
- Abuse of Officials by Coach or Team Bench
- Not reporting directly to penalty box
- Throwing Objects onto playing surface
- Team Official Bangs Stick on boards, uses obscene or abusive language, throws anything onto the playing surface, interferes with any game official, or incites an opponent into incurring a penalty.
- Major Penalties (5-minutes, game misconduct, or both)
- Head Butting
- Checking an opponent.
- Physical contact to an opponent after the whistle has blown.
- Cross-Checking
- Butt-Ending with stick
- Elbowing or Kneeing
- Kicking
- Misconduct Penalties (10-minutes or Game w/no team penalties)
- Persistent abuse of Officials.
- Using Obscene, profane or abusive language.
- Intentionally banging boards, goals, or glass with stick.
- Persists in any course of conduct for which the player has previously been assessed a misconduct penalty.
- Uses obscene gestures before, during, or after game.
- Touches or holds any Game Official with the hand or stick.
- Player resists the Game Officials during an altercation
- Third man in an altercation (possible league suspension)
- Tournament Suspension
- Dropping gloves to engage in violent activity
- Throwing a punch, with gloves or fists, towards anyone on or off the playing surface
- Leaving Bench During an Altercation
- Deliberately inflicts or attempts to inflict physical harm to a Game Official or a Team Official in any manner.
- Behaves in any manner which is critically detrimental to the conduct of the game, including spitting on an opponent, Game Official, or Team Official.
- Swinging a stick, for any manner, towards any other player or official on or off the rink
EQUIPMENT
1. The Away Team is responsible for changing jersey colors if two teams play each other have similar jersey colors. All jerseys must be the same color, and must be numbered.
2. All players must wear all mandatory equipment for all games and warm up.
