High School Players First League

The OPS Players First League was formed to give high school soccer players an affordable platform to play indoor soccer during the winter. The goal of the program is create an environment that encourages high school players to play indoor soccer during the off-season to best foster their skills. The league will offer competitive and fun divisions of all skill levels to ensure to high school coaches that their players are playing in a league that will best suit their level of play.

Benefits of Playing Indoor Soccer

  • Fewer players on the field means more touches on the ball and increased touches translates to more individual skill. 
  • The ratio of players to field size is designed to assist players with making the right kind of decisions and improving awareness. 

 
Why do you only play small sided games? Why not 8v8, 9v9, or 11v11?

  • 260% more scoring attempts
  • 500% more goals scored
  • 225% more 1v1 encounters
  • 280% more dribbling skills/tricks.

  • Jan. 18, 2021 - Mar. 23, 2021 (10 Weeks)

 

  • All players will register individually
  • Players will be placed on a team and play 10 week game session including playoffs
  • Small sided 6v6 games
  • Champion league format: Home and Away point accumulation system 
  • IHSAA 7-man rule will honored (No more than 7 players from one school will be allowed to play on the same team)
